45 Atlanta companies join Social Madness

Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Social Madness
Forty-five metro Atlanta companies are now part of the madness -- Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Social Madness contest, presented by Capital One Spark Business.
The contest, sponsored across 43 cities through Atlanta Business Chronicle parent company American City Business Journals, is a one-of-a-kind corporate media challenge that measures the growth of a company’s social presence.

Compete against other local businesses by making new connections on top social media sites and votes on The Business Journals Social Madness pages.
Social Madness is a local and national challenge that will spotlight the best social media programs of companies.
After nominations are in, the local challenge begins on June 1, 2012 and will culminate in a national bracket challenge that will crown Social Madness champions in three categories based on company size.

Who is eligible?

  • Companies with headquarters in metro Atlanta
  • U.S. headquarters of a foreign company in metro Atlanta
  • Metro Atlanta headquarters of a separately branded operating division of a larger company

How is scoring determined?


  • Companies will be ranked based on a scoring algorithm that measures social influence. The algorithm will gauge votes on bizjournals.com, LinkedIn Connections, Facebook activity and Twitter followers during the challenge.

  • All potential contestants for Social Madness must fill out and submit the form on this page before May 15, 2012. All fields are required.

  • Entries will be vetted by Atlanta Business Chronicle to ensure contestants meet eligibility requirements. Companies will receive verification that their submission has been accepted or rejected based on the rules. Accepted companies will receive more information prior to the June 1st start of the challenge. The newsroom is the final arbiter on all entries and eligibility disputes.
